ÎÞÓÇÊÓƵ

ÎÞÓÇÊÓƵ’s Rideshare Incentive Program offers a variety of transportation benefits and daily cash incentives to benefits-eligible employees who carpool, take public transportation, bike or walk to work.

Why Rideshare?

Southern California needs clean air and you can help. Motor vehicles contribute nearly half the total amount of man-made air pollution in the United States today. In California, employers with 250 or more employees at a worksite are required to reduce air pollution by implementing programs that ultimately reduce the number of vehicles commuting to the workplace. The most common employer programs include incentives that encourage employees to use means of transportation other than driving to work alone.

Rideshare Benefits and Incentives

• Daily Cash Incentive – benefits-eligible faculty and staff are eligible to receive $2 each day they report using alternate transportation to arrive at work (e.g. carpool, walk, bike, or public transportation). Rideshare incentives are considered taxable income.
• Rideshare Matching Service – Rideshare matching services are available at  or .
• Personalized Commute Planning  – personalized commute planning is available by contacting 1.800.COMMUTE (800.266.6883) or Metrolink at 800.371.LINK (800.371.5465).
• Public Transit Subsidy  – reimbursement of up to $68/month is available to faculty and staff who use public transit and submit receipts for the purchase of transit passes.
• Carpooling – Share the ride to work. Carpool lanes save commuters on average a minute-per-mile. People who use them report an average time savings of 40 minutes a day or more than a third of their total commute time. Your carpool partner does not even have to be an Harvey Mudd employee. You do not have to rideshare every day and there is no limit on the number of days you can carpool. Do what you can, when you can.
•  – It’s easy! Sit back, relax and enjoy a pleasant commute. Metrolink is the newest rail system in Southern California.
