And yet, we understand that cost often affects college choice, so it is important for you to understand all of your financial aid options. While each family is treated individually, and family resources vary widely, here are some basic statistics from our 2025–2026* academic year:
- Our policy is to provide 100% of every student’s demonstrated need (combination of grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study)
- ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ 70% of Harvey Mudd students receive financial aid (combination of grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study)Â
- The average financial aid offer is $54,412 (combination of grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study), of which about $44,279 (includes need-based and merit-based awards) comes in grants and scholarships aid from ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ (not from government sources)
- ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ 45% of Harvey Mudd students receive need-based aid (combination of grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study)
- ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ 23% of incoming first-year students qualify for our merit-based awards (additional 10% including ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ National Merit Awards)
- ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ 60% of incoming first-year students receive scholarship (includes need-based and merit-based awards) assistance directly from ÎÞÓÇÊÓÆµ
