Merit-Based Scholarships
When you apply for admission to Harvey Mudd as a first-year student, you may be considered for our merit-based scholarships. These awards recognize outstanding academic achievement and encourage the best and the brightest to join the Harvey Mudd community. Review each award description to determine whether you need to submit any additional application forms or credentials to be considered for any of these awards.
- President鈥檚 Scholars Program
- Harvey S. Mudd Merit Award
- National Merit Scholarship
- FIRST Robotics Scholarship
- RIF Scholarship
- Esterbrook Merit Award
- VEX Scholarship
Scholarships based upon merit are offered to first-year students by the Harvey Mudd Office of Admission. Transfer students are not eligible for merit-based scholarship programs. In determining who will receive our merit-based scholarships, the Office of Admission looks primarily at academic achievement鈥攆inancial need is not considered.
Once offered, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress (SAP) and be enrolled full time (at least 12 credits) to maintain renewal eligibility for the scholarships.
These awards are granted independent of financial need. If you receive a merit-based scholarship and are also eligible for need-based aid, your merit-based scholarship will be included in the aid provided to meet your financial need. Thus, any merit-based scholarships received will be coordinated with other need-based aid to help meet a student鈥檚 demonstrated financial need and will not be used to help reduce the family鈥檚 calculated contribution.
All questions regarding eligibility and application procedures for merit-based scholarships should be directed to the Office of Admission.
