Navigating the HSA Program
Here鈥檚 a quick summary of where to find some key information, and how to accomplish various things you may need to do in planning your HSA program.
Finding HSA Courses
Find out if a certain course at The Claremont Colleges counts as HSA
In your 鈥淪tudent鈥� section of the portal, do a 鈥淐ourse Search鈥� setting 鈥淐ourse Area鈥� to 鈥淗M 5C HSA Courses.鈥� Make sure 鈥淭erm鈥� is set to the semester you want to look within.
Find out which HSA departmental courses are being offered in a particular semester
In your 鈥淪tudent鈥� section of the portal, do a 鈥淐ourse Search鈥� setting 鈥淐ourse Area鈥� to 鈥淗M Dept HSA Courses.鈥� Make sure 鈥淭erm鈥� is set to the semester you want to look within.

Summer Courses
Take one or two non-Claremont summer courses for HSA credit (in-person only)
Read these rules and have your HSA advisor sign off on this form before you take the courses.
Take Harvey Mudd or Pitzer summer courses for HSA credit
No approval needed. Just make sure they鈥檙e HSA courses (see above).
HSA Concentration
Declare your HSA concentration
Email your HSA advisor and they will update your HSA advising record.
Writing Requirement
Get credit for the HSA writing requirement with a non-departmental course
Carefully fill out the Request to Satisfy the HSA Writing Requirement form, following all of the instructions. Then email the form to your HSA advisor.
