Meet the Muchachos

The Muchachos are a team of student leaders who bring energy, connection, and positivity to campus life. They help build community, support events, and make sure every student feels welcomed and included at Mudd.

Guided by the DSA’s values of Community, Inclusion, Respect, and Care, the Muchachos focus on creating spaces where everyone can be themselves, get involved, and grow together. Through hands-on experiences, leadership opportunities, and a focus on wellbeing, the Muchachos help make Mudd feel like home.

Check out the posters around campus or visit the Dean’s Desk in Hoch-Shanahan Dining Commons for more info and ways to get involved.

Signature Events

All year long, the Muchachos plan events that celebrate Mudd’s spirit and strengthen our community. Explore some of their signature events below!

Crib Races

Crib Races are one of Mudd’s most hilarious traditions! Teams of students race through a wild obstacle course while caring for their ‘baby’ (a fellow student) complete with dressing, feeding, and diaper-changing challenges along the way

Wednesday Nighters

Feeling that midweek slump? The Muchachos are here to save the day! Drop by Wednesday Nighter to unwind, laugh, and try something new. From open mics and game nights to competitions and the fan-favorite pancake night—there’s always something different happening! Times vary each week, so stay tuned!

Paint Nights with Dean Chris

Unwind and tap into your creativity with resident artist DC and occasional guest artists! These relaxed sessions give you the chance to decompress, have fun, and walk away with your very own masterpiece. You’ll often find us painting at Lucky’s Coffee or Platt, the perfect spots to chat and get inspired.

Previous creations have included Taco in the Sun, Winter’s Coming: The Groundhog Shadow, City Lights and Fire, and Flowers—and every session brings a new theme and fresh ideas. Come join us and see what you’ll create next!
